Gorakhpur: Yogi Adityanath's father, Anand Singh Bisht, has advised his son to take everyone along after taking over the Uttar Pradesh Chief Ministerial post.

Bisht said his son, who has been elected as the Uttar Pradesh CM, has to respect all religions and remember that even the women from Muslim community voted for him and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

While speaking exclusively to The Times of India, Bisht said, “People from all faiths believe BJP and Adityanath can take them on the path of progress. That has to be kept in mind."

The Muslim women feel that BJP would help them on triple talaq and other issues, the UP CM's father asserted.

While advising his son to shed the tag of 'Hindutva campaigner', Bisht said, his son on day one of assuming office asked the officials not to use the language that hurts others.

Bisht lives with wife Savitri in Panchur village of Pauri Garhwal.

In his first speech in Parliament after taking oath as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that he worked for all and called him a global icon.

On UP he said, "My party has given me the responsibility of the Uttar Pradesh. I am going to work for it."

He also said, "UP will be a state where there will be law and order and no corruption. It will be a state where women will be safe. I invite all to visit the state."

Taking a dig at his opponents Yogi Adityanath said, "People can talk about my age. I am a year younger to Rahul Gandhi (Congress vice president) and a year elder to Akhilesh. I must say I came in between both of them. It could be due to your failures."

"UP will be a dream state of PM Modi," he said while signing off.

Yogi Adityanath took over as 21st Chief Minister of the country's largest state on Sunday and had vowed to pursue the agenda of 'sabka sath, sabka vikas'.
