Ex-MLA Haji Yakub Qureshi's relatives thrash students in Meerut school; FIR registered, CCTV footage being examined

Meerut: Female relatives of former MLA Haji Yakub Qureshi allegedly thrashed girl students inside the school premises in Meerut, said reports on Wednesday.

According to ANI, relatives of the former MLA also clashed with teachers and vandalised the school property.

It has now emerged that Qureshi's daughter had a minor altercation with some students of her school after which some female relatives of the MLA came to school and created a ruckus.

The former MLA's daughter had not to come to school folowing which the students had complained about her to their teacher.

An FIR has been registered in connection with the case and the matter is being probed.

The principal of the school said that students are very scared after the incident and a case has been formally registered in this regard.

The Meerut police is said to be examining the CCTV footage to ascertain what happened inside the school.

Meanwhile, parents of other students have also raised serious concerns about safety of their children after the incident, SP City Meerut said.
