Barabanki MP Priyanka Singh Rawat threatens ASP, says 'will skin you alive'

Lucknow: Priyanka Singh Rawat, the BJP MP from Barabanki, has courted a controversy by threatening to skin a senior police official alive over his alleged misconduct.

Reports on Friday claimed that the 31-year-old MP had threatened ASP Gyananjay Singh over phone.

I will get all the malai out, khaal bhi khichwa lungi (I will get all the illegal wealth seized, will skin you alive)," Rawat reportedly told the police officer.

Rawat said this as she was reportedly upset with the ASP over his "misbehaviour".

When quizzed by the reporters, she repeated the words again and said that she had no regrets for it.

The police officer, she said, had misbehaved and shown poor attitude.

"We have Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government at the centre and Yogi Adityanath's government in Uttar Pradesh. Only those who perform will stay in this district. If their conduct doesn't improve, then we will take strict action and their record will be checked," the lawmaker warned.

This is the second incident this week involving a BJP lawmaker.

State BJP chief Keshav Prasad Maurya, reports claimed, had taken note of the incident and cautioned Rawat to behave responsibly.
