Argentinian woman manhandled and robbed by 3 youth in Varanasi

Varanasi: An Argentinian woman was manhandled and robbed by 3 youth at Assi Ghat in Varanasi. The Victim has registered an FIR with Bhelupur police station under section 394 of IPC against three unknown persons.

The woman, who leads the life of an ascetic, has been living in Bhadaini area for over 10 years. She has been working with an NGO.

She had gone to the banks of Ganga for daily meditation in the evening. Three youths, seeing her alone in the place robbed her and also slapped her when she tried to thwart their attempt.

The attack was the third on foreigners in a week around Varanasi. It comes fresh on the heels of attack on a Japanese tourist who was drugged and robbed of his belongings by a man posing as a tour guide.

He was robbed of his bag that contained his visa, passport,50,000 Yen and around Rs 20,000 in cash, along with an ATM card and other items.
