Amar Singh makes explosive claim, says Mulayam scripted Samajwadi Party family feud to help Akhilesh

New Delhi: 'Sidelined' Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh on Tuesday made explosive revelations, claiming that his party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav actually scripted the bitter acrimony between his son and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his uncle Shivpal.

Stating reasons, Singh said that Mulayam scripted the entire drama to beat the anti-incumbency and law and order situation factors against the Samajawdi Party government and help his son win the crucial assembly elections.

Amar Singh further stated that SP election symbol 'cycle', son and party are the weaknesses of Mulayam, and the SP patriarch orchestrated the drama to ensure that Akhilesh is projected as a rival of his father and emerges as a real political hero in the end.

Singh made these claims in an explosive interview to News18, during which he said, ''Initially he was unaware of Mulayam's game plan and played along, but subsequently realised that he was being used.''

In order to prove his allegations, the expelled SP leader said, when Mulayam went to the Election Commission for the second time to stake claim on 'cycle', he didn't took him along as he would have strongly pitched for the poll symbol.

Amar Singh's charge against the Yadav family can badly hit the polls prospects of the SP polling for four phases are yet to be held in the ongoing high-voltage elections.

Interestingly, Mulayam's brother Shivpal had earlier announced that he will float a new party after March 11.

Shivpal has been marginalised in the new arrangement in the party after his nephew Akhilesh took over the reins from Mulayam.

Besides, he has been completely ignored in campaigning also with his name not figuring in the list of SP’s star campaigners.
