Chennai: DMK president MK Stalin on Wednesday blamed the BJP-ruled Centre for the crisis inside the AIADMK-led Tamil Nadu government.

He said President Ram Nath Kovind has agreed to meet him on Thursday at 11am. "We will meet him with our allies," said Stalin, a week after the AIADMK factions merger.

"If action is not taken against the Tamil Nadu government even after meeting the president, will consider legal action," he said.

Following the AIADMK merger, 19 party MLAs withdrew their support from Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy's (EPS) government, leading to the government falling short of majority.

The rebel MLAs met Dinakaran at his residence, giving rise to speculations that many of them, who were part of the Palaniswami camp, may openly declare support to Dinakaran.

Meanwhile, O Panneerselvam took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and has been allocated the portfolios of Finance, Housing, Rural Housing, Housing Development, Slum Clearance Board, Town Planning, Urban Development, Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority and Accommodation Control.
