New Delhi: While ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu was busy scripting history at the biggest sporting spectacle, instead of lauding her for her phenomenal achievement, some of the Indians chose to do something which was not at all related to her feat.

While there was a substantial increase in Google searches for the Hyderabadi girl, some Google users were curious about something rather specific - Sindhu's caste.

Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Haryana are the top three states where the phrase was searched for.

When one types PV Sindhu in Google's search box, her caste was the third most searched keyword related to her.

Notably, Sindhu became the youngest Indian to win an Olympic medal after she bagged a silver in the women's singles final on Friday.

The 21-year-old lost to Spain's Carolina Marin in three games.

After beating Japan's Nozomi Okuhara in semi-finals, Sindhu also became the first Indian shuttler to advance into the final of the mega event.
