New Delhi: Triathlete, Marathoner and Ultra-Runner, Abhishek Mishra has won the title of Ironman at the triathlon in Mallorca, Spain held on 26th, September, 2015.
Around 2600 runners belonging to different nationalities participated in this tasking event.
IronMan, organized by World Triathlon Corporation, is one of the world’s toughest one-day sporting events. It comprises of 3.8km of swim, 180km of bicycle and 42km run to be completed within 17 hours.
Abhishek Mishra, who took part in this sport for the first time, completed the triathlon in 14:27:10 hours.
On the special occasion of winning the title, delighted IronMan Abhishek Mishra said, “My passion for running compelled me to participate in the triathlon and helped me achieve my goal. I wanted to explore my potential and realized that with persistence and endurance we can accomplish every goal that we aim for. I represented India and am ecstatic that I could make my country proud.”
Now after winning the IronMan title, Abhishek will participate in Bhati Ultra 220 km run to explore and realize his capability on Friday, 1st October,2015.
Abhishek, an engineer with a Masters in Marketing & International Business, was employed at GE before the running bug caught him. Now, he is spearheading a wave of running by participating and winning titles like IronMan. He is also launching the first community-oriented full marathon in Gurgaon, Millennium City Marathon, promoting community building and healthy living.
