Macau: Indian badminton star Saina Nehwal ousted Dinar Dyah Ayustine of Indonesia in pre-quarters to enter final 8 of the $120,000 Macau Open Grand Prix Gold badminton tournament.

Saina didn't find it extremely easy against he Indonesian opponent but edged past 17-21, 21-18, 21-12 in the women`s singles event.

The Hyderabadi badminton player lost the first set but fought back to claim the next two games to advance in the tournament.

On the other end in men`s singles event, B. Sai Praneeth defeated fifth seed Wong Wing Ki Vincent 21-15 21-17 to secure his progression in the quarter-finals of the tournament.

The Indian shuttler dominated the game throughout with some swift court movements and powerful strokes to clinch the game in straight sets in 43 minutes.

Other men's shuttler, Parupalli Kashyap, made his comeback after a long layoff, but could not continue progressing in the tournament, bowed out after losing his second round match to Chinese Taipei`s Lin Yu Hsien 13-21, 20-22.

Kashyap gave away the first game rather easily but showed grit and determination to fight back in the second game by putting in some quality strokes, though it wasn't enough to defeat the opponent.
