Sebastian Vettel confident of Ferrari future despite James Allison exit

Baden-Wurttemberg: The future of Ferrari is in good hands despite this week`s departure of technical director James Allison, an optimistic Sebastian Vettel said on Thursday.

The four-time world champion, speaking ahead of his home race this weekend, said he had no worries about Ferrari`s form and prospects.

He said he had faith in the team and in the appointment of new technical chief Matteo Binotto who replaced Allison after the Briton split with the team.

Allison`s wife Rebecca died earlier this year and he had expressed a wish to spend more time with his family in England.

"Matteo has been in the team for a very long time so is very experienced and he knows the team inside out," said Vettel. "There will be a difference, but short term it doesn`t change much."

Ferrari are without a win this season and president Sergio Marchionne has pushed for results.

"I think we have the right people on board," said Vettel. "Obviously there has been a lot in the press, especially about our president and what he expected from us.

"It is good to see he is involved. He is pushing the team very hard and, in Maranello, he spends a lot of time there.

"He knows what he is talking about and generally trying to understand what is going on, especially in the last year."
