New Delhi: French driver Romain Grosjean thinks that it's time for Jenson Button to move aside and allow fresh blood into Formula One. The Lotus driver was once rumoured to partner Fernando Alonso at McLaren, at the expense of Button and Kevin Magnussen.

Grosjean, 28, was quoted as saying "If I am not mistaken, Jenson has been in F1 for 15 seasons... I'm sorry if he goes, but we need fresh blood."

Alonso's move from Ferrari has already been confirmed, but McLaren delayed announcement of their second driver for the upcoming season. In between, speculation of Button leaving F1 is growing with each passing day. The Briton partnered with Dutch rookie Magnussen in the recently concluded season for the embattling team.

Button, 34, won the 2009 Formula One champion but in 2014, he could only finish eighth in the championship while Magnussen, 22, finished 11th.

It's believed that the arrival of Alonso and Honda as their new engine partner will spur their chances in the championship, which has been undermined in the last couple of seasons. But who will partner the two-time world champion at McLaren is still a matter of conjecture.
