Steven Gerrard, Xavi Hernandez make 500 League appearances

New Delhi: Legends Steven Gerrard and Xavi Hernandez added another feather to their cap after making their 500th league appearence for Liverpool and Barcelona respectively.

Steven Gerrard who is leaving Liverpool this summer, made his 500th appearence for the Reds in a crucial Premier League encounter against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

Liverpool copuldn't cross the line and drew the game 0-0. The result keeps them on fifth place in the EPL table.

On the other hand Xavi Hernandez made a substitute appearence in Barcelona's 2-0 win against Espanyol in a derby encounter in La Liga.

Xavi got to the 500 club and achieved the milestone as fans cheered him aloud after he replaced Andres Iniesta.

Barcelona lead La Liga table and are eyeing for a treble this season. Xavi who has seen his chances limited this term may leave the Catalans in the summer according to reports.
