Croatia`s record goalscorer Davor Suker was re-elected on Monday as head of the country`s football federation (HNS) for a further four years.
Suker, 46, took over from long-term president Vlatko Markovic after the latter stepped down in 2012. Markovic, who headed the HNS since 1998, died last year. Suker scored 45 goals in 69 international appearances in a distinguished career which included playing for Sevilla, Real Madrid and Arsenal. Croatian football has been rocked in recent years by financial problems, match-fixing and bribing scandals. Croatia play the opening match in this year`s World Cup finals against hosts Brazil on June 12.
