Courtesy: YouTube (screen grab) New Delhi: In a La Liga match in November 2012, Real Madrid super-star Cristiano Ronaldo almost lost an eye after taking an elbow from Levante's David Nevarro.
The match witnessed gory scenes as the Portuguese received on-filed treatment with blood gushing from his eyebrow. But despite the injury in the opening minutes, Ronaldo kept on, and in the 21st minute he scored a beauty of goal.
Madrid won the match 2-1, but after the match Jose Mourinho claimed that Ronaldo would have lost his vision.
