Virat Kohli: Five incredible records set by India captain during 200-run knock

New Delhi: Taking off from where he left off in the Indian Premier League, run-machine Virat Kohli continued with his spectacular form in the 1st Test against the West Indies.

After dominating the ODI and T20 formats in 2016, India's Test skipper brought his A game to the park in the longest version of the game.

The 27-year-old hit 200 runs in Antigua to put his side in a commanding position in the series opener.

The right-hander was in control from the word go and none of the Windies bowlers troubled him right through the innings.

This was Virat's first double ton of his career. En route the 200-run mark, here are the five milestones achieved by the Delhi batsman.

  • Virat's batting average abroad as captain (74.7) is second only to Don Bradman (85.6) among those who have batted 10 or more innings
  • Kohli is only the third visiting captain to hit double ton in the Caribbean
  • This is the highest score by an Indian captain away from home
  • Virat is now tied with Mohammad Azharuddin for most tons (5) by Indian captain abroad
  • Since August 1, 2015, Kohli has scored 2901 runs, the highest by any player, across formats.
