India in Sri Lanka 2015: Anurag Thakur congratulates Team India, Virat Kohli on historic series win

New Delhi: Soon after Indian cricket team registered a historic series win against Sri Lanka, Anurag Thakur, secretary of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), congratulated Virat Kohli & Co. for the feat.

Thakur, who was present in Sri Lanka during the second Test, said that Kohli had made India proud by ending their 22-year series win drought on the Lankan soil.

After losing the first Test from a winning position, India bounced back in the three-match series and won the next two by 278 runs and 117 runs respectively.

Cheteshwar Pujara was adjudged the Man of the Match for his 145-run knock in the first innings of the final Test, while Ravichandran Ashwin, who scalped 20 wickets in the series, was adjudged the Man of the Series for his commendable effort.

In his first full-fledged series as a Test captain, it is a great start for Virat Kohli, whose aggressive style of play should win India more Tests abroad.
