Pakistan Super League: Cricket legend Imran Khan to mentor Peshawar franchise

New Delhi: Former Pakistan skipper Imran Khan is all set to mentor Pakistan Super League's Peshawar franchise - Peshawar Zalmi.

Owner of the franchise, Javed Afridi, confirmed the news on Wednesday by stating that Imran would provide guidance and vision to the team.

"Imran Khan has become the mentor of our team and we are overjoyed with this development as he represents the best of Pakistan cricket and we will benefit immensely from his guidance and advice," Javed told PTI.

Cricketer-turned-Politician, Imran, retired from international cricket in 1992 and since then he stayed away from the game.

Under the captaincy of inspiration Imran, Pakistan won it's maiden World Cup title in 1992. 

Skipper of Pakistan's T20 team, Shaid Afridi will be captaining the Peshawar franchise.

The inaugural edition of the PSL is scheduled to be held in Dubai and Sharjah from February 4.
