WATCH: KKR vs KXIP - Did Ravi Shastri commit shocking blunder at toss?

New Delhi: Just when fans thought they had witnessed a controversy-free Indian Premier League after several years, Ravi Shastri stepped in to dismiss that notion.

The incident, which most spectators seemed to have missed, occurred during Match 32 of the tournament between Kolkata Knight Riders and KXIP on May 4.

At the toss, KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir flipped the coin in air and KXIP captain Murali Vijay called heads.

As the coin landed, the match referee Amit Sharma announced that it was tails, which meant KKR had won the toss.

In a moment of confusion however, the former Team India director declared Vijay as the winner, offering him the first option.

The two captains were clearly taken aback and were left in an awkward position as they shook hands.

While several social media users termed the incident 'fishy', there is of course the possibility that Shastri did not hear Vijay clearly.

Was this a lapse in concentration on Shastri's part or something else? Watch and decide...
