Can Virat Kohli surpass Sachin Tendulkar's 100-ton record? Here's what Yuvraj Singh feels...

New Delhi: Virat Kohli's red-hot form in 2016 has seen him carve out a unique niche for himself.

The consistency of the 27-year-old helped him win the player of the tournament at WT20 and become the IPL's leading run scorer.

The speed at which Kohli is accumulating his runs has led to several opinion makers and fans comparing him to batting legend Sachin Tendulkar.

A similar query was posed to Virat's good friend and star left-hander Yuvraj Singh on Thursday.

Yuvi offered a tactful reply when asked whether the Delhi lad would be able to reach the master's milestone of 100 international hundreds.

"I think 100 centuries is really far away to think. Tendulkar was a great player and great ambassador of India and it is going to take a lot (of hard work) for Virat Kohli to come in comparison with that," he told NDTV.

"Virat (Kohli) is in great form. He is the best batsman of this generation along with AB de Villiers. So, I hope one day he becomes a great player for India," he further added.

Yuvraj has almost recovered from his injury and is expected to feature in SunRisers Hyderabad's starting line-up on Friday against table-toppers Gujarat Lions.
