Indian Premier League: Eight top buys at the 2016 player auction in Bengaluru

New Delhi: The Indian Premier League's player auction on Saturday had a little bit of everything.

There was action, emotion and plenty of drama, as some of the best cricketers in the world went under the hammer.

Clearly, all-rounders and bowlers were stars of the day with most team opting to break the bank to secure their services.

While Yuvraj Singh and Shane Watson being high on the wish list of teams was known, sums fetched by the likes of Pawan Negi and little-known spinner M. Ashwin stunned all the observers.

Now that the dust has settled, here are the top eight buys at the IPL 2016 auction.
