New Delhi: As part of a new trend, the cricket fraternity has been frequently posting about dream XIs of various cricket teams lately.

In what was India's 500th Test at Kanpur, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also asked fans and cricket experts to come up with their dream Indian Test XI.

Several established names came up with their top XI comprising all-time Indian cricketers.

In a video released by Cricbuzz, noted commentator Harsha Bhogle too shared his dream Indian Test XI on social media.

While fans would agree with most of the names in his team, one big name which went missing from Bhogle's playing XI was of former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly. (Sourav Ganguly and Anil Kumble are my favourite captains: Virender Sehwag)

Ganguly, who played 113 Tests for the country, is not only regarded as of India's finest batsmen, but one of the greatest skippers to have led the Indian team.

Bhogle however, chose Anil Kumble as the skipper of the team. The choice is surprising as his team also has some reputed names in Sunil Gavaskar, Mohammad Azharuddin, VVS Laxman, Kapil Dev, MS Dhoni – who were all great skippers during their time.

Bhogle does mention Ganguly's exclusion in the video where also apologises to him with folded hands for giving preference to VVS Laxman and Mohammad Azharuddin.

Surprisingly, the Dream Team drafted by BCCI recently, on the basis of votes, also had one major surprise where the fans chose Yuvraj Singh over Ganguly. (Sourav Ganguly fans blast BCCI's Dream Team after Yuvraj Singh trumps Dada as 12th man)

Yuvi, who was never a permanent member of India's Test side, polled 62% of the votes and was named as the 12th man.
