New Delhi: Virat Kohli's impending face-off with Mitchell Starc has forced India captain to go innovative in his practice.

Ahead of the India-Australia series opener in Pune, Indian team management asked Kohli to face Aniket Choudhary and help iron out issues against left-arm seamers.

Choudhary is not yet an established name, but the left-arm pacer sure possesses a skill-set similar to that of the Aussie bowler.

“It is a big opportunity for me to have been chosen by the Indian management to bowl to star Indian batsmen in the nets. Playing for India is every budding cricketer’s dream, but to have even earned this opportunity means a lot to me”, told Aniket to Sportskeeda.

Interestingly, Choudhary was picked by Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore in the recent Indian Premier League auction.

“I was bowling to Virat Kohli in the nets when the Indian team manager came and informed me that I was brought by RCB for 2 crores. Fast bowling ki poori thakaan utar gayi yeh news se (the tiredness of fast bowling went away with the news),” an elated Choudhary added.

On Day 1 of first India-Australia Test, Kohli & Co have reduced the visitors to 256/9 and they will get to bat pretty soon. With pacer Umesh Yadav taking four wickets on the Pune rank turner, Starc and other Aussie pacers are also likely to go for a kill too.
