ICC World T20: Shikhar Dhawan determined to work on mistakes and be a better player

New Delhi: The ICC World Twenty20 event did not go as planned for Indian cricket player Shikhar Dhawan.

The opening batsman had a series of poor outings which led to him being replaced by Ajinkya Rahane in the semi-finals, where India lost against West Indies at the Wankhede in Mumbai.

Dhawan is a fighter and enjoyed a good run with the bat in Australia in ODIs and T20Is earlier this year after a poor run with the bat that threatened his place in the side.

He then continued his form with decent performances against Sri Lanka at home in a three-match T20I series.

But since then apart from a knock of 60 runs against Bangladesh in the final of Asia Cup, Dhawan has struggled at the crease.

The southpaw stated on Saturday that there would be some shortages in his side as the kind of performances he wanted did not happen.

He also added that he is determined to change his mistakes and be a better player.

Dhawan will next be seen in the Indian Premier League starting from April 8.
