ICC World T20: England announce 15-man squad; no place for Stuart Broad, Chris Woakes

New Delhi: England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Wednesday announced the 15-member squad for ICC World T20 2016.

Eoin Morgan will lead the England team in the coveted event, which is scheduled to take place in India from March 8 to April 3.

Uncapped all-rounder Liam Dawson was included in England's squad.

Interestingly, veteran speedster Stuart Broad and all-rounder Chris Woakes failed to find a place in the squad.

However, Steven Finn, who is suffering from a side strain, has been included.

And as expected, Kevin Pietersen, who was in outstanding form with the willow during the Big Bash, was once again ignored by the selectors.

England is in Group One, with West Indies, South Africa and Sri Lanka, as well as a first-round qualifier from Scotland, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan and Hong Kong.

England's will play their opening match against the West Indies on 16 March.

England squad: Eoin Morgan (capt), Moeen Ali, Sam Billings, Jos Buttler, Liam Dawson, Steven Finn, Alex Hales, Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Jason Roy, Ben Stokes, Reece Topley , James Vince, David Willey.
