End of road for Ravindra Jadeja?

New Delhi: He was a very heavy baggage which the Indian cricket team was carrying for quite some time. One of the major changes we have witnessed from the BCCI of late is the way they have treated Ravindra Jadeja.

When Virat Kohli began his new innings as the Indian Test skipper, while the BCCI recalled Harbhajan Singh for the one-off Test against Bangladesh, they didn't waste any time in sacking Jadeja from the squad.

Even when they announced the squad for the Zimbabwe tour, while key players were rested, Jadeja once again bore the brunt for his poor form and lost his ODI spot as well.

While inexplicably, MS Dhoni backed Jadeja in all formats of the game, the new BCCI set up is keen to fill the squad with deserving players.

Jadeja, who has three triple tons in the Indian domestic circuit to his name, has failed to make consistent contributions with the bat as a result of a carefree approach. He has just one half-century to his name from 12 Tests, and just 10 from 121 ODIs.

Despite playing as an all-rounder in the squad, Jadeja has hardly won matches for the team in that role.

While it is yet to be seen whether he will make a comeback when Dhoni rejoins the squad as the ODI skipper, one thing is for sure, time is certainly running out for the Saurashtra-born cricketer.
