Despite tough training, we'll continue our Ramadan fast: Misbah-ul-Haq tells Mickey Arthur

New Delhi: New Pakistan coach was left hugely impressed by the self-discipline of captain Misbah-ul-Haq and senior batsman Younis Khan as they prepared for the upcoming England tour.

Speaking to The Telegraph, the South African said he witnessed this side of the two senior players during Ramadan.

They departed from Lahore at dawn and reached Southampton at sunset. With a five-hour time distance, the journey is almost 20 hours.

The players neither ate or drank anything during that period.

Arthur informed the duo that training at the Ageas Bowl would be tough.

“Don’t worry about us, we’ll do everything you need, but we are going to continue our fast," the skipper told Arthur.

The coach was amazed with Misbah's response.

"I thought that was extremely admirable. It’s amazing, the strength of mind to get through that," Arthur told the newspaper.

The PCB has left no stone unturned to help the side prepare for this tour.

Considering Pakistan's formidable bowling line-up and helpful conditions, the England batsmen need to brace themselves up for a tough test.

Pakistan's batting however could once again let them down.
