BCCI may remove N Srinivasan as ICC chairman: Report

New Delhi: According to a report in the Times of India, more trouble could be in the offing for N Srinivasan, as Shashank Manohar becomes the news BCCI president.

The former boss of the Indian board might be removed from the ICC chairman's post at the AGM of BCCI.

Media reports in the last few months suggested that BCCI might retain the Tamil Nadu strongman as ICC chairman.

However, with a sudden change of guard at the board, Srinivasan could be in for further embarrassment.

With numbers not on his side, Srinivasan would be unseated as TNCA president by the Manohar-Thakur combine if there is an election.

“India's term for the chairman's post ends in July 2016. There's not much time left and that is probably the only hope for Srinivasan. He has done a good job as chairman and Srinivasan's removal at this stage might tarnish BCCI's image,” a source was quoted as saying by the TOI report.

Not too long ago Srinivasan ruled Indian cricket with an iron fist. Now he faces a battle for survival.
