Tendulkar, Dravid, Ganguly to advise BCCI in finding new India coach

New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in its working Committee meeting on Sunday have authorised Jagmohan Dalmiya and Anurag Thakur to identify a coach and support staff for the team.

They have also shown a desire in appointing legendary trio of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid as advisor’s on all cricket-related matters.

The BCCI has decided to seek the approval of the trio to advise them on all important cricketing matters including the appointment of national coach.

Earlier in the month, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid were being seen as candidates to replace Duncan Fletcher as the next coach of Team India. But their possible appointment as advisors might mean that they are no long in contention for the top job.

There were other matters on the working committee's agenda as well, such as the sale of Chennai Super Kings. The BCCI however, have not come to a conclusion on the matter to ratify the de-merger of the CSK from India Cements as of now.

The Board wants more legal opinion on this matter before giving it its stamp of approval.

Earlier, the BCCI were expected to reject the previous regime's approval of India Cements Limited's proposal to transfer the control of CSK to a trust for just Rs 5 lakh in a bid to de link Srinivasan from the franchise to comply with a Supreme Court order.

BCCI also paid homage to the departed young cricketers from Bengal, Mr. Ankit Keshri, Mr. Gaurav Kumar of Jharkhand and the unfortunate victims of the earthquake which devastated Nepal and India.

The Working Committee of the BCCI authorised Jagmohan Dalmiya to constitute a cricket advisory committee comprising of prominent former cricketers.
