Another Indian-American Shalabh Kumar becomes part of Donald Trump's inauguration committee

A prominent Indian-American industrialist has been appointed to the US Transition Finance and Inauguration committee.

Washington: US President-elect Donald Trump has appointed a prominent Indian-American industrialist to the Transition Finance and Inauguration committee.

The news was confirmed by a Republican Hindu organistion.

Shalabh 'Shalli' Kumar, who played a leading role in mobilising Hindus for Trump, is founder and president of Republican Hindu Coalition (RHC).

"I am honoured to accept these positions with the transition team and the inauguration committee," Kumar said in a statement.

"I am looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and working together with Steve and the other members of the Trump administration to make America great again," he said, as per PTI.

Kumar along with Steven Mnuchin, Trump's pick for Treasury Secretary, also played a key role in organising the 'Aab ki baar Trump sarkar' ad campaign.

On November 29, Trump had nominated Indian-American woman to a top administration position, putting her in charge of a federal agency within the health department as part of a 'dream team' which he said would transform America's healthcare system.

The announcement came along with Trump's nomination of Congressman Tom Price as his Health and Human Services Secretary.

"I am honoured to be nominated by President-elect Trump today," said Verma, who met Trump in New York last week.

Interestingly, her nomination came days after Indian-American Nikki Haley was named as US envoy to the United Nations by Trump.

Haley had scripted history by becoming the first-ever Indian-American to be appointed to a Cabinet-level post in any US administration.
