Beirut: The global terrorism outfit, al Qaeda, has appealed Islamic State to release British aid worker Alan Henning who has been named next by the militant group to be beheaded in view of taking revenge from US and its allies.
The infamous terrorist group, al Qaeda, that carried out ruthless 9/11 attacks in US in 2001 has urged IS extremists that Henning should be released as he was an innocent aid worker who genuinely served the suffering Muslims.
Al Qaeda's appeal has come when the barbarous beheading acts of IS are fetching global condemnation.
According to The Independent, Bilal Abdul Kareem, a US film-maker who has reported extensively from Syria has revealed that al Qaeda had appealed to the Sunni militant group when it seized Henning in December, warning that such a move would backfire.
He had also revealed that four days after he was captured, the emir went to Al-Dana and said ‘Look, what you are doing is wrong. You have no business what you are doing. You have no right to abduct him. You have no reason to detain him just because he is not Muslim’.
Henning, a taxi driver from Eccles in Salford, was so distressed by the plight of Muslims in the crisis-ridden state, he left his home last Christmas with his wife and two children to assist refugees in the Syrian town of Al-Dana.
Meanwhile, The Telegraph's reports claim that Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil) moved the British captive Alan Henning to its stronghold in Raqqa in eastern Syria after coming under attack from other rebel factions in the border area where the Salford driver was kidnapped.
Free Syria Army rebels attacked Isil in Idlib province just days after Mr Henning was snatched on Boxing Day and had routed the group within weeks.
Henning was said to have no official ties to the UK Government and worked with a Muslim-led non-governmental organisation. Reports also suggest he was separated from his Muslim counterparts by masked men.
Henning was paraded at the end of a horrific new video showing the beheading of British hostage David Haines – implying he will be next amid mounting pressure on the Prime Minister to act, specialists are drawing up plans for potential ‘high risk’ rescue operations to get him out of danger.
