Suri: A tribal widow was gang-raped allegedly by eight persons at Tatinapara village under Labhpur police station in Birbhum district, the police said today.
The 36-year-old woman had gone to attend a wedding ceremony and when she came out of the venue in the wee hours of Friday, she was raped by the eight accused, according to the complaint the victim lodged with the police yesterday.
The police arrested four of the accused. They were remanded to 10 day's police custody by the Bolpur additional chief judicial magistrate, Sourav Nandi, today.
The victim has been admitted to hospital for medical test and necessary treatment, police said.
