Hemkund yatra: Now, 4 km less walk for pilgrims

There is good news regarding Hemkund yatra. With a four kilometre road from base camp Govind Ghat to Pulna being operational, the administration is giving permission to locals to operate taxis.

Dehradun: There is good news regarding Hemkund yatra. With a four kilometre road from base camp Govind Ghat to Pulna being operational, the administration is giving permission to locals to operate taxis.

This way now travellers will have to only tread 15 kilometres by road instead of 19 km.

The vehicles of pilgrims will be stopped at Govind ghat. From here on they can take taxi service for four km by paying the required fee.

Hemkund Sahib, known as Gurudwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib ji, is a Sikh place of worship and pilgrimage site in Chamoli district, Uttarakhand.
