'Char Dham Yatra' concludes as Badrinath temple doors closed

Doors of the famous Badrinath temple in Garhwal Himalayas on Thursday closed for winters, concluding the Charm Dham Yatra.

Dehradhun: Doors of the famous Badrinath temple in Garhwal Himalayas on Thursday closed for winters, concluding the Charm Dham Yatra.

The doors of the shrine closed at 3.35 PM for the devotees, Chief Executive Officer Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee B D Singh said.

Special prayers were performed at the occasion by the shrine's head priest, Raval Keshvan Namburi, and it was attended by hundreds of devotees along with the temple's administrative officers, Singh said.

The shrine was decorated with marigold flowers and during winters, the paryers will be carried out at Joshimath.

The other shrines which form a part of Chardham Yatra, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri, have already closed their doors due to the onset of winters.

Gangotri temple in Uttarkashi district closed on October 24 and Kedarnath temple in Rudraprayag district and Yamunotri temple closed on October 25 on the festival of 'Bhai Dooj'.
