Indian Air Force chief Arup Raha on Wednesday said that the government is taking the recent instances of ceasefire violations at the border “seriously” and efforts are being made to resolve the situation.

New Delhi: Indian Air Force (IAF) chief Arup Raha on Wednesday said that the government is taking the recent instances of ceasefire violations at the border “seriously” and efforts are being made to resolve the situation.

“The government is taking the issue seriously. We want peace at the border,” said Raha during 82nd Air Force Day celebration at Hindon Air Force Station.

He said that efforts are being made to end the firing at the border.

Tendulkar was conferred with the honorary title of Honorary Group Captain four years ago and is the first person with no aviation background to get the honour.

He is present at the Air Force station along with his wife Anjali and is wearing his uniform.

Army Chief Dalbir Singh Suhag is also present.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted that the air force personnel are our “our pride & their bravery, commitment & dedication continues to inspire”.

An air display by various aircraft will form a part of the Air Force Day parade - Investiture Ceremony.

The areas over which aircraft were scheduled to fly at low levels are Wazirpur bridge –Karwalnagar–Afjalpur–Hindan, Shamli–Jiwana–Chandinagar–Hindon, Hapur–Philkua–Ghaziabad–Hindan.

 The Indian Air Force was officially established on October 8, 1932 when it was created as an auxiliary air force of the Indian Empire.
