BJP delegation meets UP CM; submits memorandum on Kanth clash

A BJP delegation on Friday met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in connection with alleged "inhuman behaviour" of the police with party workers in Kanth and "dismal law and order situation" in the state.

Lucknow: A BJP delegation on Friday met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in connection with alleged "inhuman behaviour" of the police with party workers in Kanth and "dismal law and order situation" in the state.

"The delegation led by state unit president Laxmikant Bajpai apprised Yadav about the inhuman treatment meted out to BJP workers by the police in Kanth, major administrative lapses there during the clash, besides the unconstitutional statement of the SSP Moradabad, Dharamvir Yadav," party media in charge Manish Shukla said.
They also handed over a memorandum to the Chief Minister mentioning the series of events in Kanth in Moradabad district and demanding strong action against all those responsible for it, he said.

The Chief Minister assured that democratic traditions and constitutional values would be upheld, he said.
Leader of the Party in the Vidhan Parishad, Hriday Narain Dixit drew attention of the Chief Minister towards the gruesome rape and murder of a woman in Mohanlalganj area of the state capital and he has assured that stern action would be taken against the culprits, Shukla added.
