NDA and Telangana govts only delivered impossible promises: Reddy

The NDA government at the Centre and the TRS government in Telangana have made "impossible promises" to the people but have not delivered on them, former Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy alleged here on Wednesday.

Hyderabad: The NDA government at the Centre and the TRS government in Telangana have made "impossible promises" to the people but have not delivered on them, former Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy alleged here on Wednesday.

"You know that impossible promises have been made. If there is a competition in making impossible promises whether KCR (Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao) is great or Narendra Modi is great, I cannot say. They only claim the credit in making impossible promises and lies," former petroleum minister S Jaipal Reddy told reporters here.

Projects are not taking off after the NDA government assumed office and promises have not been realised, Reddy alleged, speaking on the NDA government's one year in office.

He charged that veteran BJP leaders LK Advani and Sushma Swaraj have been marginalised in the present dispensation.

"So, Sushma Swaraj has been reduced to a dummy and their common guru Advani has been reduced to a mummy," Jaipal Reddy alleged.

Meanwhile, Telangana Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir said that a chapter titled 'The movement for the formation of Telangana state' has been included in this year's Class X social studies text book which has not mentioned the role of AICC president Sonia Gandhi the formation of Telangana.

"...The 14-page content contains praises only for Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Telangana Rashtra Samithi," they said.
