Khadi board reconstituted

 Sudha Ravi and Jegada Rajappa, experts in the field of textiles design, have been included in the reconstituted board of trustees of Gandhigram, Khadi and Village Industries Public Charitable Trust with effect from November 1.

Dindigul: Sudha Ravi and Jegada Rajappa, experts in the field of textiles design, have been included in the reconstituted board of trustees of Gandhigram, Khadi and Village Industries Public Charitable Trust with effect from November 1.

The board constituted a Design and Rejuvenation Committee under the Chairmanship of Sudha Ravi and Jegada Rajappa has been included as a member, a press release said here today.

This is in addition to Planning and Monitoring Committee.

The objective behind the reconstitution is to rejuvenate activities of Khadi industries, suggest new designs and update the old designs. It also aims at introducing attractive design with Natural dye in order to attract young people for using Khadi cloths both in urban and rural areas, the release said.

In its meeting today, the committee decided to introduce Madurai Chungudi model design in Khadi trailed with chemical dye. Thereafter it will try with Natural dye, it said.
