Salem: The toll in the Dharmapuri bus accident has gone up to ten with a 50-year-old woman succumbing to her injuries at the hospital here on Thursday, officials said.

Nine persons died and over 50 were injured when a government bus fell into a gorge in Dharmapuri district on January 20.

The state government had sanctioned a solatium of Rs three lakh to the next of kin of those who died, Rs 50,000 for the severely injured and Rs 25,000 who sustained minor injuries.

Of the injured, eight persons were admitted to the government hospital here and the woman succumbed to her injuries.

Three state ministers had visited the hospital yesterday to handover the solatium to the patients.
