Ranchi: A chopper ferrying Union Minister Uma Bharti to Ramgarh in Jharkhand on Saturday lost its way in the middle, triggering panic among people.

Bharti, who was scheduled to visit Rajrappa temple in Ramgarh district, had boarded a chopper in the morning. However, in the mid-way the chopper's pilot lost the contact with the ground duty staff, simultaneously losing its way.

After 15 minutes, the contact was re-established with the chopper and safe landing was ensured.

Earlier in April, Bharti's chopper had landed in Shivpuri town in Madhya Pradesh instead of Jhansi. The Chief Electoral Officer Jaideep Govind had said Bharti's chopper had landed by "mistake".

Rajrappa temple is situated 28 km away from Ramgarh on the confluence of rivers Bhairavi and Damodar. It is also known as Chinnamastika temple and has been mentioned in Vedas and Puranas, recognizing it as an ancient temple.
