Octogenarian couple commits suicide in Jharkhand

Jamshedpur (Jharkhand): An octogenarian couple, apparently fed up of old-age related problems, allegedly committed suicide today in Haludboni village in Bodam police station of East Singhbhum district, police sources today said.

"Bhola Nath Mahato (88) and his wife Aalo (85) drank pesticide and died," Vinod Kumar Singh, officer-in-charge of Bodam Police station, said.
As no male member was at home when the incident occurred, he said, the couple sent out the daughters-in-law to work in the field and drank poison yesterday.
The victims, who were living with their sons, were facing old-age problem for the last fortnight, Singh said while suspecting it as one of the reason to end their lives.
