Rahul Gandhi on 'leave': Is he miffed with senior Congress leaders?

New Delhi: Shortly after Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi took “leave of absence”, Shiv Sena targeted the Gandhi scion in its editorial mouthpiece 'Saamna' alleging that he took the decision as he was miffed with senior party leaders.

The article further hints that it was because of this reason, Rahul decided to take “leave” even at a crucial time of Budget Session in the Parliament.

After party's electoral defeats, the Gandhi scion had decided to take leave from party's work. He will not be attending the Parliament Budget Session and won't be part of the party's protest against Land Acquisition Bill.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi defended the move and said that Rahul needs “some time”.

Even the party came to Rahul's defense with Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi saying that the Gandhi scion had asked for time to introspect and decide on future course for the party.

He added that the time for introspection is necessary as All India Congress Committee (AICC) will be held shortly and Rahul will give inputs for it.
