New Delhi: Commenting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "invisible enemy" statement, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Tariq Anwar on Saturday said the Indian Government first needs a 'proper' defence minister for a better functioning army.

"Narendra Modi should look for a full time defence minister, as Arun Jaitley is a temporary defence minister. This position comes with a lot of responsibilities. However, till now, the Narendra Modi Government does not have a proper defence minister," said Anwar.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Modi urged top brass of the Army, Navy and Air Force to work as a team all the way from lowest levels of the services to the top while addressing the Combined Commanders' Conference in New Delhi.

He also said that full-scale war might become rare, but they should to be prepared to deal with the threat from the "invisible enemy".
