Jehanabad (Bihar): A mob on Monday set the 'Vajra Vahan' (anti-riot vehicle) of police on fire after a minor boy was crushed to death by the police vehicle in Bihar's Jehanabad district.

Fifteen-year-old Chhotan Manjhi was going to his village Yadubigaha from Naihalpur on bicycle when he was crushed to death by the police vehicle near Naihalpur village under Paras Bigaha police station area of the district, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Ashfaque Ansari said.

"Following the incident, villagers of Yadubigaha, Naihalpur and other adjoining areas set the police vehicle on fire in protest against the incident and also blocked the NH-110," the SDPO said.

The police team which went to clear the blockade had to retreat after local villagers hurled stones in which a sub-inspector, R N Yadav suffered minor injuries.
