New Delhi: Pakistan foreign ministry on Friday summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner after the row over 2008 Mumbai terror attack mastermind Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi's release order from Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail.
Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh was called to the Foreign Office where Pakistani side raised the 2007 Samjhauta train blast case, in which 68 people including several Pakistani nationals were killed, contending that there was undue delay in the trial.
Earlier in the day India said it was "extremely upset" over the verdict of a court in Islamabad ordering release of Lakhvi and lodged a strong protest with the Pakistan government.
The officiating Foreign Secretary Anil Wadhwa summoned Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit to South Block and conveyed India's unhappiness over the order in strong words.
Lakhvi and six others - Abdul Wajid, Mazhar Iqbal, Hamad Amin Sadiq, Shahid Jameel Riaz, Jamil Ahmed and Younis Anjum - have been charged with planning and executing the Mumbai attacks in November, 2008 that left 166 people dead.
