Ranchi: Five jawans of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were injured on Saturday in IED blasts triggered by Naxals in Jharkhand's Dhanbad area.
CRPF troops belonging to the 154th battalion, along with those from state police, were out for a Long Range Patrol when they encountered a series of IED blasts around 12.15 pm.
The patrol party exchanged fire with the Left ultras, Deputy Inspector General (Bokaro range) Upendra Kumar Singh said, but did not elaborate.
"All the injured jawans have been airlifted to Ranchi for treatment," Singh added.
Separately, four IEDs were recovered today by 219 Battalion of CRPF in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, reports said.
On Wednesday, seven CRPF men were killed in a deadly landmine blast carried out by Naxals in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh.
