Dadri lynching: MHA asks all states to ensure zero tolerance towards any attempt to incite communal tension

Delhi: In the backdrop of the lynching of a Muslim man in Dadri over allegations of eating beef, the Ministry of Home Affairs issued an advisory to state governments on Monday stating that zero tolerance had to be maintained towards any attempt to weaken the secular fabric of nation.

The MHA also said that it was concerned with various incidents with communal overtones across the country including the recent unfortunate incident at Dadri, as per ANI.

The ministry has asked states to take strictest action as per law against elements who are exploiting religious sentiments without any exception whatsoever.

At the same time, Union Minister MA Naqvi said that no destructive agenda would be allowed to dominate government's focus on development, as per PTI.

And MoS in PMO Jitendra Singh said that government was committed to empowerment of minorities with dignity.

Meanwhile, as the political slugest over the Dadri lynching escalated, the District Magistrate today said legal experts have been asked to examine video footage of the remarks made by controversial BJP MLA Sangeet Som and appropriate action will be taken even as UP minister Azam Khan accused BJP of "planning and executing" the killing.

On the other hand, in Lucknow, Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan alleged that the Dadri lynching was "pre-planned and executed" by BJP.

He also attacked the RSS, saying it is looking for issues to divide communities on religious lines. The SP leader said that he will a letter to the United Nations about the Dadri killing.

50-eyar-old Iqlakh was dragged out of his home by a 200-strong mob and beaten to death after a public announcement from the local temple that the family had slaughtered a calf and eaten its meat last Monday night in Bishada village.
