Jaipur: Criticising the NDA government at Centre for not addressing farmers' grievances, Bhartiya Kisan Union-Tikait (BKU-T) on Thursday said it will hold a Kisan Panchayat in Delhi to highlight their demands.

The Panchayat will be held on March 18 where the union will present a 12-points charter of demands, said national general secretary Yudhveer Singh at a press conference here.

The demands include ordinance on land acquistion, toll tax on foodgrains, minimum support price on foodgrains, loan waiver and pay commission, he added.

There should be a pay commission for farmers like the employees' pay commission to consider all matters related to MSP and other government schemes for farmers, Singh said.

He said the BJP in its manifesto had promised to fix the MSP of crops at fifty per cent of the agricultural cost, but the Modi government has not done it so far. The existing MSP is not enough for the small and medium farmers, he added.

Old agriculture loans which have not been paid till now should be waived off and compensation for crop damage should be be given to individual farmers on their actual loss, he said.

Singh said BKU-T opposed power tariff hike in Rajasthan and would demand roll back of the hike, he said.
