Rohtak: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Haryana Police has filed a chargesheet in the case lodged by two Rohtak sisters, who grabbed the attention by thrashing molesters on a moving bus on November 28, 2014.
The police have filed the 200-page chargesheet after examining 50 witnesses and have included the findings of the polygraph test of Pooja (19) and Aarti (22) as ordered by the court on December 15 last year.
According to reports, the chargesheet states that in the polygraph test, 60 responses by the sisters were incorrect.
Notably, most of the witnesses have reportedly testified that there was no molestation and the fight in the bus was over a seat.
Among the witnesses is the woman who had made a video of the incident.
The hearing in the case is scheduled to begin from August 26 in the district court.
“Instead of conducting a probe against the accused, the cops have investigated the complainant. This is absolute injustice,” The Indian Express quoted Attar Singh Panwar, the counsel for the sisters, as saying.
Meanwhile, the father of accused Deepak, Shripal Hooda, said: “The sisters tried to ruin the future of my son. Let the case go to court, we will also file a defamation case against the girls now”.
The video of the sisters thrashing three eve-teasers in a Haryana Roadways bus had become the talk of the nation last year. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had even announced that the “brave” college-going sisters would be honoured on Republic Day.
Later, another video of the two Rohtak sisters had surfaced, showing one them beating up a youth in a park for allegedly teasing them.
However, days after they hogged limelight, the case took a new turn when four co-passengers from Aasan village, the native hamlet of the sisters, gave an affidavit in Sadar police station at Rohtak claiming that the boys were innocent.
