Three of a family killed in mishap in Gujarat

Three persons of a family, including a 90-year-old man, were on Saturday killed and one was injured when their car smashed into a tree on Bhadran-Jambusar road near Navapura village here, police said.

Anand: Three persons of a family, including a 90-year-old man, were on Saturday killed and one was injured when their car smashed into a tree on Bhadran-Jambusar road near Navapura village here, police said.

The incident took place when the car-driver lost control over the steering and rammed the vehicle in a roadside Babool tree which he could not see, Police Sub Inspector D H Ahir said.

The deceased were identified as Tapu Katariya (90), Laxman Katariya (55) and Rahul Kuwad (13), police said. The car was bieng driven by a family member Mukesh (19) who has been shifted to a private hospital in Anand town.

The Katariya family was going to their residence in Surat from Ikhli village in Savarkundla taluka of Amreli district, he said.

Police have initiated further legal procedure in this case, Ahir said.
