Home guard on poll duty run over by bus, dies in Raj

A 35-year-old home guard of Rajasthan police, who was on his way to join polling duty, died today after he was run over by a bus on Kota road in Kotwali city police station area.

Bundi (Rajasthan): A 35-year-old home guard of Rajasthan police, who was on his way to join polling duty, died today after he was run over by a bus on Kota road in Kotwali city police station area.

Mukut Behari, a resident of Keshoraipatan area of the district, was going to join polling duty today morning when a speeding bus of Rajasthan Roadways ran over him, ASI Sampat Singh said, adding that Behari died on the spot.

A case of careless driving was lodged against the bus driver, who was arrested soon after the mishap.
After post mortem, the body was handed over to his family for last rites, he said.

Polling teams were to leave for their assigned polling booths by trucks from the higher secondary school ground.
